Should consist of one paragraph, should not exceed 200 words, and should contain the background and objective of the paper, its principal results, and its conclusions. Avoid using abbreviations and citations. Hypertension remains a major public health problem worldwide, particularly in developing countries where awareness and prevention efforts are still limited. This study aimed to evaluate the effect of health education using bay leaf (Syzygium polyanthum) as a natural preventive measure on the improvement of community knowledge about hypertension. A quasi-experimental design with pre-test and post-test was conducted involving 20 adult respondents from Kampung ketupat Rt 02. Data were collected through structured questionnaires assessing basic hypertension knowledge, understanding of the benefits of bay leaf, and awareness of dosage and safety. The results indicated a significant increase in the mean scores of respondents’ knowledge after the intervention, with an improvement of 28% in basic hypertension knowledge, 34% in understanding the benefits of bay leaf, and 33% in dosage and safety awareness. These findings demonstrate that health education using local medicinal plants can effectively enhance community understanding of hypertension prevention. The study suggests that integrating traditional knowledge into health promotion programs can serve as a sustainable approach to reducing hypertension risk at the community level.
