Abstract

Tingginya prevalensi kanker di Indonesia perlu dicermati dengan tindakan pencegahan dan deteksi dini yang telah dilakukan oleh penyedia layanan kesehatan. Kasus kanker yang ditemukan pada stadium dini serta mendapat pengobatan yang cepat dan tepat akan memberikan kesembuhan dan harapan hidup lebih lama. Keterlambatan pasien kanker serviks dating berobat sering disebabkan ketidaktahuan pasien tentang ketidaknormalan alat reproduksi yang dialami. Metode yang digunakan dalam kegiatan ini adalah penyuluhan dan dilanjutkan dengan diskusi. Hasil pre-test responden yang memiliki pengetahuan baik sebanyak 4 orang (13,3%) dan pengetahuan cukup sebanyak 26 orang (86,7%); sedangkan pada hasil post-test yang responden dengan pengetahuan baik sebanyak 23 orang (76,7%), dan pengethuan kurang sebanyak 7 orang (23,3%). Hasil pre-test sikap responden yang memiliki sikap positif sebnyak 10 orang (33,3%) dan yang memiliki sikap negative sebanyak 20 orang (66,7%). Pada hasil post-test diketahui bahwa responden yang memiliki sikap positif sebanyak 22 orang (73,3%) dan yang memiliki sikap negative sebanyak 8 orang (26,7%). Penyuluhan dengan media leaflet dapat meningkatkan pengetahuan keluarga tentang bahaya kanker serviks dan pencegahannya sejak dini. Materi penyuluhan yang diberikan mencakup materi tentang pengertian kanker serviks, bahaya, gejala, pencegahan dan cara deteksi dini kanker serviks. Diskusi dilakukan setelah pemberian materi selesai dilaksanakan. Pemberian materi yang dilanjutkan diskusi terbukti efektif meningkatkan pemahaman wanita usia subur mengenai kanker serviks dan pentingnya deteksi dini kanker serviks.
