Edukasi Masyarakat Melalui Gerakan 10 Jari Cegah Kanker Ovarium

Kanker ovarium adalah kanker yang muncul di jaringan ovarium atau indung telur. Kanker ini merupakan jenis kanker terbanyak ketiga yang diderita wanita di Indonesia. Minimnya pengetahuan terhadap kanker sendiri merupakan salah satu penghambat pendeteksian dini kejadian kanker ovarium. Deteksi dini merupakan kunci upaya penyembuhan kanker ovarium melalui gerakan 10 jari cegah kanker ovarium yaitu kampanye untuk mengenal enam faktor risiko dan empat tanda kanker ovarium. Tujuan kegiatan penyuluhan ini adalah untuk menyampaikan informasi mengenai kanker ovarium dan meningkatkan pengetahuan deteksi dini kanker ovarium dengan metode 10 jari pada wanita usia post menopause. Metode yang digunakan dalam kegiatan melalui serangkaian tahap antara lain dengan penyuluhan dan pemeriksaan USG (ultrasonography). Penyuluhan ini dilaksanakan di Kelurahan 16 Ulu Kecamatan SU II Kota Palembang. Hasil yang dicapai setelah mengikuti penyuluhan dan diskusi ada peningkatan pengetahuan masyarakat mengetahui tentang bahayanya kanker ovarium dan pentingnya deteksi dini.
