Abstract

Tuberkulosis merupakan penyakit yang disebabkan oleh Mycobacterium Tuberculosa yang menyerang jaringan paru-paru. Angka penularan pemnyakit ini masih sangat tinggi, terutama pada Negara berkembang seperti Indonesia. Metode pelaksanaan pengabdian kepada masyarakat ini adalah pemberian edukasi kepada kader yang dilaksanakan oleh tim pengabdi dari Poltekkes Jambi yang terdiri atas dosen dan mahasiswa. Hasil pengabdian menunjukkan bahwa ada perbedaan tingkat pengetahuan dan keterampilan kader dalam meningkatkan perannya dalam pencegahan penularan penyakit tuberculosis. Hal ini terlihat dari kuesioner pre dan post test yang diisi oleh kader. Sosialisasi ini menghasilkan peningkatan pengetahuan dan keterampilan kader tentang cara mencegah penularan penyakit tuberkulosis dengan menggunakan instrument self screening.
