Author Fees

Please note that there is no author fee for submission and publication papers in the Majalah Kesehatan Indonesia (Makein).

As an open-access journal free of charge for authors and readers Majalah Kesehatan Indonesia doesn’t have funds for extensive copy editing. All submitted materials have to comply with the Author Guidelines. Submissions that do not adhere to these guidelines may be returned to authors. It is important that authors follow these guidelines closely. Publication of manuscripts is contingent on thorough proofreading and adherence to the stylistic guidelines by the author(s).

Updated Publication Fee Information

Starting from April 1, 2026, Majalah Kesehatan Indonesia (MAKEIN) will implement an Article Processing Charge (APC) of IDR 500,000 per article.

Journal does not charge authors from outside Indonesia any submission or publication fees, and no costs are incurred for article processing or the review process.

Please note that manuscripts submitted before April 1, 2026, will not be subject to any APC.

This fee is intended to help cover article processing costs, including:

• editorial process,

• layouting,

• DOI setup, and

• domain and server maintenance.

The APC will be charged only after the manuscript has been accepted for publication. If you do not have funds to pay such fees, you will have an opportunity to waive each fee. We do not want fees to prevent the publication of worthy work. Further information regarding the publication process and requirements can be found in the applicable Author Guidelines.
